The East Carolina Bank (ECB) has come a long way since a group of local community leaders first started a small bank in Engelhard (Hyde County),
North Carolina in 1920.
Today, ECB is a regional leader with 23 locations serving thirteen counties and its philosophy has not changed the best banking products, from a friendly-knowledgeable staff, while supporting the community.
A key part of its mission is to be a good neighbor and help the needs of its communities. In recognition of this commitment, ECB was honored as one of the ten "Most Generous Companies in America" by Newman's Own, Inc. and George Magazine in 1998.
Besides traditional banking services such as FREE checking, FREE online banking with Bill Pay, Savings, CDs, IRAs, Home Equity Lines and Business Services, ECB also provides mortgages, insurance services through the Banks licensed agents, and investment and brokerage services offered through a third-party broker-dealer.
Listed on The Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol ECBE, more information can be found by visiting their website at www.ecbbancorp.com .

Austin City Limits Cottage, Finley Austin.
The house with the owl in the yard.
Enjoy Ocracoke in this unique historical home. The kitchen portion of this home was once a part of the old "Pamlico Inn." Step just outside your door for a stroll through "Springer's Point" Nature Preserve where you'll find a grove of old live oaks, and plenty of "beach" at the edge of the Sound. Many thanks to Finley Austin for this sponsorship!

Ocean Atlantic Rentals was formed in 1979 by Greg and Eden Honeycutt. Early on, this couple saw a need in the community for Outer Banks visitors in search of baby items & beach equipment, which has grown into a rental equipment business that offers everything from bikes and kayaks, to wedding and event rentals. The Event Rental division (added in 2002), offers tents, tables & chairs, dance-floors and lighting to wedding & event planners from Ocracoke to Corolla.
This "good idea" has grown into a successful rental company with 4 store locations and a strong desire to help in the community. Ocean Atlantic Rentals was named "2002 Small Business of the Year" by the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.
